Using a Pocket Pussy

Also known as a pocket pussy or stroker, male masturbation sleeves are soft tubes made of a TPE, TPR or silicone material or blend, with a narrow entry that is designed to be penetrated and used as a masturbation aid.

A large number of these toys are made to look like realistic vaginas or butts – the Pipedream Extreme male sex toys range is famous for this – but some have a cleaner,  modern, discreet look for men who want a helping hand without needing the visual effect.

How do I use a male masturbator?

It’s probably pretty obvious once you open the box what you need to do with your new pocket pussy, but there are a few things to keep in mind to get the most out of your stroker.

  1. Give it a rinse – if you’re conscious about what you put on or in your body, you might want to give your toy a rinse through to remove any factory or manufacturing residue that might be left on the toy.
  2. Consider warming it up – most quality masturbation toys are made of TPE, TPR or silicone blends nowadays.  These materials adopt heat well and can be warmed to body temperature by submerging in warm water or wrapping in a warm towel.  The Fleshlight range even comes with a sleeve warmer for the man who likes to have it all!
  3. Apply lubricant to yourself and the toy – lubricating one but not the other means that you’ll dilute the effect of the lubricant as it transfers from you to the top or vice versa. Being liberal with the stuff means you’re less likely to need to stop mid-stroke to add later!  To get the lube deep down in the opening, squeeze a blob in the entry and then pinch it closed (to stop the lube backing out) before stroking the sleeve downwards with your hand to move the lubricant down through the tunnel. This will help to ensure you don’t hit dry spots as you move through.
  4. Consider whether you want to wear a condom – a condom means less mess later.  Some men find the requirement to clean the narrow channel of a masturbator after use an irritation, which means the toys can become stinky and useless after a few uses. If you’re happy to replace them regularly go for it! But if you know you’re the slightly slack type and aren’t likely to get around to giving it a thorough clean, it might be advisable to think about using a condom to contain the mess.  The new FIFI brand of male masturbation toys solved this problem by making a masturbator that comes replete with disposable liners that can be tossed after use.
  5. Stretch the end open and enter the toy – some sleeves feel so soft that you think they’ll tear with stretching, however, the materials of quality strokers are pretty durable. You will be able to stretch the opening out with a finger and thumb, using your other hand to guide yourself into the toy. With enough lube, sliding in and out from here should be pretty easy.
  6. Grip the outside of the toy and stroke!

There are a few masturbator hacks that can make your experience more enjoyable:

  • Most masturbation sleeves have an opening at both ends – this allows easier cleaning and means the sleeve ‘strokes’ rather than ‘sucks’.  However, if you want more suction, stop the end of the sleeve with a small object or your finger to create more suction.
  • Add suction and vibration – for even more sensation, stick a small bullet vibrator into the end opening and switch it on.  The vibration will tease your head as you bump into it and the bullet will stop the hole to create more suction in your sleeve.
